El Al Airlines Flight Cancellation

·         Cancellation within 24 hours of booking
               

§  Customers will cancel their booking within 24 hours of the original booking without paying a cancellation fee, regardless of the selected fare
                                                               

·         Travel booked 7 days or more before the departure date
               

·         The entire reservation must be cancelled (not applicable to El Al cancellation policy Vacations reservations)
                               

·         Changed bookings are not eligible for credit card refunds and will incur a cancellation fee, whether within 24 hours of the original booking

Can I get a refund for my EL AL booking?

Yes! It depends on the fare you choose and the time of cancellation. Please read below for more information.

 

Refundable fare

  • For EL AL refundable fares, cancellations before scheduled departure are permitted for a full refund
                   
  • If a refundable segment is not changed or cancelled before the scheduled departure time, all monies associated with that segment will be credited to EL AL Air Points and can be used for future travel within one year from the date of issue
                   

Non-refundable fare

  • For EL AL non-refundable fares, each person may cancel the cancellation fee plus any applicable fare difference before scheduled departure. Any balance will be credited to El AL reservations Air Points and can be used for future travel within one year from the date of issue.
                   
  • If an EL AL non-refundable segment is not cancelled before the scheduled departure time, all monies associated with that segment will be forfeited.
                   

 

Can I change my EL AL reservation?

Yes! This will depend on the fare you choose. Please find the change fees for each fare type in the section below titled "Cancellation and Change Fees".

 

If the change request is made before the scheduled departure time and on the same calendar day, customers can take advantage of our same-day change option.

 

Cities with multiple daily flights

  • You must change your flight before the original flight departs.
                   
  • You can make confirmed same-day changes online, on our mobile app, at 1-800-El Al cancellation policy or the airport starting at midnight (in the departure flight's time zone) on the same calendar day as your original flight.
                   
  • You must take an earlier or later flight on the same day.
                   
  • You must travel between the same city pair or designated airports at the same location.
                   
  • A same-day change fee of $75 may apply, depending on your fare.

Can I change the name on my EL AL reservation?

In the case of a minor name change of the last name only, first/middle name only, inverted name, or duplicate name, please contact the El Airlines Business Class team at 1-800-El Al Airlines. However, EL AL does not allow name changes if you want to transfer your ticket to someone else. They do allow you to cancel your flight for a fee (found in the section titled "Cancellation and Change Fees") and you will receive the full credit for your travel booking in your account. You can use this point as a voucher for El Al Airlines on Tripi Travels. Alternatively, you can list some of the EL AL-backed "ghost" flights along with the most common dates and travel destinations. In these listings, you can clarify that the listing is a voucher and that you can buy a flight for someone interested if it is supported by EL AL and within the credit limit you receive. Listing "ghost" flights will increase the chances of your voucher being recognized by potential buyers.

EL AL flights are 100% non-refundable. This applies to all cancellations, including for medical reasons. If you need to cancel your flight booking, you will be charged 100% of the booking fee. But don't worry, you can still get a refund - sell your flight to someone else. EL AL Tax Refund

For any flight you choose to cancel, you can ask EL AL to refund the UK Government Air Passenger Duty (APD). EL AL must receive such a request within 28 days of cancellation, and you must also pay an administration fee of £25/€29.00 per booking. This fee does not include creating an insurance letter.

 Cancelling My El Al Airlines Vacation

If you are flying on customer service at El Al as part of a vacation package (you have purchased your flight and accommodation from El Al Airlines), the cancellation fee depends on how long before your vacation you cancel. 

 

Changes to my El Al Airlines booking

However, please note that once the booking has been checked in online, no changes can be made. Please find the change fees below under "Flight and Name Change Fees". If there is an increase between the originally paid fare and the current fare available at the time of the change, you will be charged the increased fee. If the current fare is lower, no refund will be given. You cannot transfer your booking to a departure date more than 3 months after the original departure date without incurring a cancellation fee.

you are flying with EL AL refund policy; you can transfer your ticket to someone else. This means you can get a flight refund by selling the flight to someone else. Name change fees can be found in the "Flight and Name Change Fees" table below. 

 

Please note that on return flights, the passenger’s name must be the same for each segment. Each department can’t have a different customer name. Please note that if you change your name online within 48 hours of booking, it will be free. 

 

 Passenger names on travel bookings can only be changed within 25 hours before your first flight. However, please note that passenger name changes cannot be made once the booking has been checked in online. If the booking arrangement for the change of passenger name is more expensive than the original booking, you must pay the difference.
